About me
Sam Platts and the Plainsmen is an energetic Americana band that brings traditional country and western swing to modern audiences. Sam’s songwriting is in the vein of “old” country music, and his inspiration comes from rural, agricultural life and his family’s western heritage. Sam got his start in music on the windy plains of southern Wyoming. Today, he and his wife Lilly call southwest Texas home. Lilly, raised in a ranching family near Three Forks, Montana, has been playing fiddle since age four, specializing in Texas style and western swing. Sam and Lilly keep busy playing as a duo and with their band in various settings, from festivals to dance halls. The Plainsmen includes Matt Hattoon on bass and Kevin Cooley on drums.
