About me
Olivia Romo is a farmer, poet, water rights activist, and proud Taoseña. She has dedicated her work to educating and mobilizing New Mexicans around the risks and uncertainties of their natural resources. Currently, she is the Communications Coordinator for Santa Fe County. A bilingual poet immersed in the regional Manito dialect and culture, Olivia’s flagship poem “Bendición del agua” was featured in the Western Folklife Center’s Moving Rural Verse series. In 2023, she was a featured artist in Ojos Diferentes’ augmented reality project that poetically re-imagined Robert Oppenheimer’s Santa Fe office. Among her writings are The Gift of Good Food (a cookbook honoring traditional recipes and families who prepare them) and Sheltering In Place Together On Earth.
