About me
Melanie LaRue is a self-proclaimed desert rat, wildflower picker, part-time doodler, paparazzi for the working cowboy, and western singer-songwriter and word-slinger. She grew up on the high desert of Baker, Nevada, surrounded by sagebrush and big blue mountains. Now living and working on a ranch near Hanksville, Utah, Melanie spends her days horseback with her partner and a pack of dogs. She loves to sing and picks up her guitar any chance she can get, eager to share her passion for the cowboy lifestyle, music, and poetry. Melanie is one of the recipients of this year’s Rod McQueary & Sue Wallis scholarship.
